Why I Write

When poems sneak up on and demand to be written, I write!

I have written on napkins, the backs of paper placemats, notebooks and journals of all kinds. From tiny books you wear around your neck, mini journals that look like hooded sweatshirts to black paper journals with silver ink pens (one I only write in at night).

I write because I have to. Compelled. Things I don’t want to forget. Save them on paper.  Save the little details to remember,
