For Mom

by Valeri Beers
I
miss you.

There’s
no forwarding address
to send
you
a Mother’s Day card.

No
phone number.
No
answering machine.

I
have many
presents
for you
but
I
can only
leave them
on the ground.

    Hi Valeri,

Here’s one about my mom which I wrote some time ago. I don’t remember if I already sent this to you?

    Gertrude

WHILE SHE SLEEPS (for my mom) by Gertrude de Souza September 21,2013

The years flying by like the blink of an eye

Time not standing still Life goes on as will

Children all have grown Wings spread and flown

Still yearning for the love she sends from heaven above

while on earth, I still weep missing her, while she sleeps
