Stanzas of Sad

You  yelled  
while stuffing
your backpack  
the night
you left.

You whispered
it would
only be
a
few days
while walking
away
from me.

I
couldn't sleep,
saw
the
gray light
of
morning
turn bright.

Watching
tv alone
was painful
so
I
wrote
&
cried.

Road construction

or Road Work for you Stephen King  fans.   Where I live there is a major road and there is a  lot of road construction   I was inspired to write this haiku while waiting:

red orange
stop slow
stop go

smoothness
is worth
it
